Ajawan Townes Obituary, Death News – A 29-year-old man from Paterson lost his life in a single-car accident early Sunday morning in an industrial zone known for issues related to drag racing. Authorities reported that the incident took place around 12:40 a.m. at the intersection of Wood and Waite streets in the Bunker Hill section of the city.
The man, identified as Ajawan Townes, was driving a 2005 Mazda when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle while heading west on Waite Street. The car collided with a pole, resulting in it becoming lodged between the pole and a nearby building. Tragically, Townes was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
In the aftermath of the accident, police discovered a handgun inside the car’s center console. The firearm had been reported stolen from South Carolina. The Paterson Police Department’s Traffic Unit is currently conducting an investigation into the incident to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
