Theodis Patterson Obituary, Death – A fatal residential fire in San Leandro on Sunday is under investigation by fire crews. Alameda County Fire Department officials were called to the scene near the 14400 block of Washington Avenue at around 3:23 p.m. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered the bodies of a man and a dog, both victims of the blaze. The man was later identified by the Alameda County Coroner as 78-year-old Theodis Patterson.
There were three people in the home where the fire started; two managed to escape, but Patterson did not survive. The fire also spread to other parts of the residential building, damaging four apartments and displacing a total of 12 people.
The cause of the fire remains unconfirmed, and authorities have not released further details.
