Anthony Peplinski Obituary, Death – Investigators have determined that a 27-year-old man lost his life in a crash in Spencer on Monday after crossing the center line and colliding head-on with a semi-truck.
The accident occurred at approximately 7:50 a.m. on Highway 13, close to Merkel Road. As a result of the incident, that section of the highway remained closed until 4 p.m. on the same day.
The crash report did not provide any information or theories regarding the reasons behind Anthony Peplinski’s decision to cross into the opposing lane that morning. Unfortunately, Peplinski, who resided in Spencer, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck sustained only minor injuries.
Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including the Wisconsin State Patrol, the Spencer Police Department, Spencer Fire/EMS, Marshfield Fire/EMS, the Marshfield Police Department, and the Marathon County Medical Examiner’s Office.
