Trevor A. Wheeler Obituary, Death – A tragic car accident on September 22 resulted in the death of a young man. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the incident involved a 2015 Freightliner Boxtruck traveling southbound on Highway 63, located just south of Renz Farm Road in Callaway County.
The accident occurred around 7 a.m. when 21-year-old Trevor A. Wheeler from Columbia lost control of the vehicle. He veered off the right side of the road and went down an embankment, subsequently crossing Renz Farm Road. In an attempt to regain control, Wheeler overcorrected, causing the truck to travel back across the highway and overturn.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but Wheeler was pronounced dead at 7:47 a.m. by Callaway County EMS. It was reported that he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, which may have contributed to the severity of the outcome.
The accident highlights the importance of seatbelt use and safe driving practices, particularly when navigating challenging road conditions. The investigation into the accident is ongoing as authorities work to understand the circumstances that led to this tragic incident.
