James Barna Obituary, Death – On Saturday morning, three individuals lost their lives in separate crashes in New Ipswich and Francestown, contributing to a tragic total of four fatalities from accidents in the state within a 24-hour period.
Shortly after midnight, the New Hampshire State Police responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Turnpike Road and Temple Road. A Honda, driven by 21-year-old Devin Lundgren from New Ipswich, was traveling north on Turnpike Road when it struck a Dodge Ram that was heading south and making a left turn.
State police confirmed that both Lundgren and his passenger, 18-year-old James Barna from Sharon, were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Dodge Ram, a 36-year-old man from Greenville, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts.
While speed is believed to have played a role in the crash, authorities are continuing their investigation to determine all contributing factors.
Later that morning, around 4:30 AM, another fatal incident occurred in Francestown, where a single-vehicle crash on New Boston Road resulted in a death. Police reported that the vehicle struck a tree, but the identity of the deceased has not yet been disclosed.
Additionally, on Friday, a 17-year-old from Antrim died in a separate accident on Perry Pasture Road in Dublin. Two other passengers, a 16-year-old boy from Antrim and a 16-year-old girl from Peterborough, were injured in that crash.
Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the New Ipswich accident or who may have information relevant to the investigation to contact Trooper Isaiah Acquaye at 603-223-4381 or via email at Isaiah.J.Acquaye@dos.nh.gov.
