Eric Rexford Obituary, Death – Investigators have released the name of the man shot and killed in Littleton on Monday night as Eric Rexford, 38, a local resident. According to an autopsy conducted by the attorney general’s office, Rexford died from multiple gunshot wounds.

The identity of the individual accused of shooting Rexford has not been disclosed, but officials confirmed that Rexford and the shooter were acquaintances. The shooting occurred after a driver reported to 911 that he was being deliberately struck by another vehicle.

The incident unfolded around 11:10 p.m. on Monday when the driver, who called 911, stated that he was being followed and hit intentionally by another car. During the call, which lasted a few minutes, gunshots were heard in the background.

Police later discovered the vehicles involved in the altercation after an apparent crash near 33 Pleasant Street in Littleton. Officers found the 911 caller at the scene waiting for help and discovered Rexford suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The 911 caller identified Rexford as the person who had been pursuing and striking his car.

Rexford was transported to a hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival. The attorney general’s office indicated that both the 911 caller and Rexford were known to each other, and there is no immediate threat to the public. No arrests have been made so far, and officials are investigating whether the shooting could be classified as self-defense.

Senior Assistant Attorney General Ben Agati mentioned that the investigation is focusing on understanding what led up to the chase and shooting. Numerous interviews have been conducted, and the investigation will continue throughout the day to clarify the sequence of events and determine the motive behind the confrontation.

Investigators are also appealing to the public for assistance. They are seeking information from anyone who may have witnessed or heard the crash on Union or Cottage streets Monday night.
