Levell Douglas Obituary, Death – The Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis has been activated for a homicide investigation in the metro-east area for the second time this month. The latest case involves the death of a 37-year-old man from Madison, whose body was discovered in an alley off the 1600 block of Fifth Street in Madison on Saturday.

The victim, identified as Levell Douglas, was found with an apparent gunshot wound, according to a news release from the Major Case Squad. Specific details about the shooting have not been disclosed.

A team of sixteen investigators, led by Sgt. Justin Biggs of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, has been assigned to the case. Earlier in September, the Major Case Squad was activated for another homicide investigation in the metro-east. This case involved the shooting death of 18-year-old Damonta T. Mosley near Cahokia Heights on September 9. David F. Hodges, 19, has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with Mosley’s death.
