Kajuan Warren Obituary, Death – Police have identified the 30-year-old man who was shot dead in Wilmington over the weekend as Kajuan Warren. The shooting occurred around 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Brandywine Village neighborhood of Wilmington.

Warren was one of two individuals shot on Saturday near the intersection of East 22nd and Lamotte streets. In addition to Warren, a 27-year-old woman was found in the vicinity and was transported to a local hospital. While her condition was described as stable, police did not provide further details about her injuries.

Police have not released additional information about the circumstances of the shooting. Detective Joseph Wicks is investigating the case, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact him at (302) 576-3654.

The shooting comes amid an uptick in violence in Wilmington. After a relatively low number of shootings during the summer months—seven in June, six in July, and five in August—gun violence increased towards the end of August and into September. The current month has already seen nine people shot with half the month still remaining.

Warren’s death is Wilmington’s third homicide this month and marks the city’s deadliest month since August 2022, when four people were killed in separate shooting incidents.
