The victim has been identified by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office as Shonda Lavetta King, a 49-year-old resident of Huntsville.

The accident took place on the night of September 10, at approximately 10:12 p.m. It occurred on the northbound lanes of I-65, close to 32nd Avenue. Following the crash, King was transported to UAB Hospital for medical treatment. Despite the efforts of healthcare professionals, she succumbed to her injuries at 5:19 p.m. on Saturday.
