Terrance K. Mitchell Obituary, Death – Early Monday morning, a 29-year-old man was found dead at the scene of a traffic accident on the Eisenhower Expressway (I-290) on Chicago’s West Side. The incident occurred around 2:20 a.m. on the eastbound lanes of I-290, specifically on the ramp leading to Cicero Avenue.
State troopers arrived to discover that the driver, identified as Terrance K. Mitchell, had been ejected from his vehicle. Mitchell, who was from the Austin neighborhood, was pronounced dead at the scene by both state police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Following the ejection, Mitchell’s vehicle crashed into a parked, unoccupied car. The cause of the crash and Mitchell’s ejection from the vehicle remain unclear at this time.
The eastbound lanes of I-290 were closed for approximately two hours while authorities conducted their investigation. The lanes were reopened around 4:25 a.m.
