Robert Traczewski Obituary, Death – On Friday night in Raleigh, a 65-year-old man lost his life when his car was struck by a pickup truck that went airborne, according to police. The incident occurred shortly before 9 p.m. at the intersection of Freedom Drive and New Bern Avenue.

The Raleigh Police Department reported that the driver of a 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 was traveling east on New Bern Avenue when he experienced what is believed to be a medical emergency. This led the truck to veer off the road to the right, heading toward the intersection. The truck then hit a culvert, which caused it to become airborne before crashing into the driver’s side of a stationary 2005 Acura TL.

The driver of the Acura, identified as Robert Traczewski, was taken to a local hospital, where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the Dodge Ram was also transported to the hospital, but his injuries were reported to be non-life-threatening.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the medical emergency experienced by the Dodge Ram driver was the likely cause of the truck’s erratic movement. At this stage, there is no indication that impairment was involved, and no charges have been filed as the investigation is ongoing.

The Raleigh Police Department continues to investigate the crash to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
