Suny Rattu Obituary, Death – A fatal accident occurred on Wednesday morning on Interstate 80 in Seward County, resulting in the death of one person. The Seward County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene of the crash, which happened around 6:15 a.m. on the eastbound lanes of I-80, south of Seward.
Initial findings from the investigation revealed that a tractor-trailer driven by Suny Rattu, 34, from Lincoln, California, rear-ended another eastbound tractor-trailer. Rattu was pronounced dead at the scene. The other vehicle was driven by a 40-year-old man from Virginia, who sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Emergency response teams from Seward Fire and Rescue, the Seward Police Department, the Nebraska State Patrol, and the Nebraska Department of Transportation were all involved in managing the scene and providing assistance.
The crash caused significant disruption, with eastbound lanes of Interstate 80, approximately 20 miles west of Lincoln, being closed for several hours while authorities conducted their investigation. Both the Seward County Sheriff’s Office and the Nebraska State Patrol are continuing to look into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
