Werner from Gaines, Tioga County, Pennsylvania, lost his life in the incident. The New York State Police at Horseheads provided details of the accident, which happened at approximately 4:26 p.m. on Backer Road.
According to the preliminary investigation, Werner was driving a 2005 Toyota Tundra, heading south on Backer Road when, for reasons not yet determined, the vehicle veered off the roadway. The truck subsequently struck a ditch and overturned, leading to the tragic outcome. Werner was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by the medical examiner. Thankfully, no other individuals were involved or injured in the accident.
