Gleymar Vidal-Montes Obituary, Death – The 33-year-old woman who died in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 285 West earlier this week has been identified as Gleymar Vidal-Montes from Cumming. The accident occurred around 3:45 a.m. on Sunday near Ashford Dunwoody Road.
According to Dunwoody Police, Vidal-Montes was a passenger in a white Scion that was traveling west on I-285. The Scion was changing lanes when it collided head-on with a red F-250 pickup truck that was entering the highway from Ashford Dunwoody Road. The collision happened at the base of the entrance ramp, causing both vehicles to crash into each other and trapping both the driver of the Scion and Vidal-Montes.
Firefighters from DeKalb County worked to extricate the individuals from the wreckage, but Vidal-Montes was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Scion was transported to North Fulton Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition. The driver of the F-250 sustained non-life-threatening injuries and did not require hospitalization.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and it is currently unclear if any charges will be filed in connection with the incident.
