Janet Lynn Slaughter Obituary, Death – On Wednesday evening, a tragic accident claimed the life of a 46-year-old woman from Ravenna. The incident occurred around 9:45 p.m. on State Route 59 (SR 59). Janet Lynn Slaughter was crossing SR 59 from the north when she was struck by two vehicles.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol Troopers, Slaughter was first hit by a dark-colored pickup truck travelling eastbound on SR 59. The driver of this truck briefly stopped after the collision but then fled the scene. This individual remains unidentified and at large.

Following the initial collision, a second vehicle, driven by a 43-year-old man from Lake Milton, was approaching the scene. As he neared Wal-Mart, he noticed Slaughter lying in the road. Despite his efforts to avoid her, he was unable to do so and ended up hitting her. After the collision, the Lake Milton man pulled over to the right side of the road to alert other drivers and provide assistance.

Unfortunately, Slaughter was declared dead at the scene. The highway was closed for several hours while investigators examined the site of the accident.
