According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the incident occurred on Sunday afternoon. Photopoulos was driving a Volkswagen ID4 electric vehicle westbound on Holland Avenue when the crash happened. Reports indicate that he was traveling at an excessive speed and failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection with Wishon Avenue.
