Silvestre Sandoval Romo, Guadalupe Ruiz Pina Obituary, Death – On Saturday morning, a fatal ATV crash in western Fresno County claimed the lives of a man and a woman, both of whom have now been identified by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office.

The deceased have been named as 24-year-old Silvestre Sandoval Romo from Mendota and 22-year-old Guadalupe Ruiz Pina. The crash occurred around 6 a.m. on Santa Fe Grade, near West Shaw Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), Romo and Pina were riding a Yamaha Raptor Quad ATV when the accident took place. They were traveling southbound on Santa Fe Grade at a high rate of speed and were approaching a parked trailer.

The CHP reports that Romo, who was operating the ATV, failed to reduce speed and subsequently collided with the trailer. Both Romo and Pina were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Neither of them was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.

At this stage, it is not known whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
