Carsyn Storm Obituary, Death – An Omaha man has been identified as the motorcyclist who died in a crash on Saturday after reportedly fleeing a traffic stop. The Nebraska State Patrol stated that around 8:15 p.m., a trooper attempted to pull over a motorcycle on I-680 near Pacific Street. Instead of stopping, the motorcyclist accelerated, prompting a chase.
According to troopers, the motorcycle sped westbound on I-80, reaching speeds over 110 miles per hour. The motorcyclist exited I-80 at Giles Road but re-entered the highway heading eastbound. The motorcyclist then exited I-80 once more and traveled westbound on L Street.
The Omaha Police Department’s Able-1 unit tracked the motorcycle to 120th Street. At this location, the motorcycle ran a red light and collided with a van traveling westbound on L Street. The impact resulted in the motorcyclist’s death. The Nebraska State Patrol identified the motorcyclist as 20-year-old Carsyn Storm.
The driver and passenger of the van were both taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
