Ronald Demetrius Dixon Jr, Wesley Fowler Jr Obituary, Death – The Bessemer Police Department has identified the three men who were shot and killed at a gas station last week. The incident occurred around 11:40 p.m. on August 30 at the Citgo gas station located at 200 4th Avenue North.
According to Detective Justin Burmeister, the shooting began in the parking lot of the gas station and continued inside the store. The victims, who had initially been outside, ran into the store to escape the gunfire, but the shooters followed them inside. The police discovered the three men dead inside the store.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the victims as 20-year-old Ronald Demetrius Dixon Jr., 41-year-old Wesley Fowler Jr., and 25-year-old Christopher Dajuan Eddins. All three victims were from Bessemer.
In connection with the case, the Bessemer Police Department has charged Raukeem Cunningham with capital murder. Cunningham is currently being held without bond. Authorities are still searching for additional persons of interest related to the shooting. Adding to the tragedy, a drive-by shooting occurred during a candlelight vigil for the victims on Monday night at the same Citgo gas station where the triple homicide took place. This incident resulted in three additional people being injured.
