Charlie Fairley Obituary, Death – Authorities in Mississippi report that a high school basketball player was allegedly shot and killed by a 14-year-old following a fight. The tragic incident occurred on Robindale Road, where deputies were called in response to gunfire.
Upon arrival, officials found 16-year-old Charlie “CJ” Fairley lying in the street with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. Fairley was airlifted to a hospital but, unfortunately, succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators have disclosed that the shooting happened after a fistfight between Fairley and the 14-year-old suspect. The young athlete was well-known for his positive attitude and basketball talent, leaving his community and loved ones in shock.
Coach Javoris fondly remembered Fairley, saying, “He had a smile that would light up the room. This is a hard one.” Friends echoed similar sentiments, describing CJ as a good friend who was always there for others, expressing their deep sorrow over his loss.
The 14-year-old involved in the incident has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder. He is currently being held on a $1,000,000 bond.
