Miguel Arriaga, Perla Gutierrez Obituary, Death – The seven individuals who lost their lives in a bus accident in Mississippi have been named. The crash occurred on Interstate 20 near Bovina around 12:40 a.m. on Saturday, August 31, as reported by the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP). The bus was en route from Atlanta, Georgia, to Dallas, Texas, when the incident happened.
The accident involved a 2018 Volvo commercial passenger bus traveling westbound on I-20. The vehicle veered off the road and overturned. The bus was operated by Autobuses Regiomontanos.
According to officials, six passengers were pronounced dead at the scene, and one later died at Merit Health River Region in Vicksburg. Numerous other passengers were taken to various hospitals in Vicksburg and Jackson with injuries that remain unspecified.
The victims identified by MHP are:

– Victor A. Garcia, 32, from Mexico
– Moises A. Garcia, 31, from Mexico
– Kain Gutierrez, 8, from Mexico
– Perla Gutierrez, 16, from Mexico
– Elia Guzman, 63, from Mexico
– Angelica Palomino, 16, from Mexico
Todd Inman, a member of the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), stated that an investigation team will be in Mississippi for at least a week to work alongside MHP and the Mississippi Commercial Transportation Enforcement Division. The NTSB anticipates releasing a preliminary report on the crash within 30 days, with a final report expected within 12 to 24 months.
