Josh Cowdrey Obituary, Death – According to ABC30, the motorcyclist who tragically died in a severe crash on the morning of August 28, 2024, has been identified as 37-year-old Josh Cowdrey from Clovis. The collision occurred shortly before 11 AM on Barstow Avenue, near Stanford Avenue, involving an SUV driven by 57-year-old Tammera Pittman.
The Clovis Police Department reported that Pittman was maneuvering her SUV when she made a left turn directly into the path of Cowdrey’s motorcycle. The impact of the crash was intense, and despite the swift arrival of emergency responders, Cowdrey was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was officially confirmed by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office on Thursday.
The crash took place in a heavily traveled area between Sunnyside and Fowler Avenues, known for its high volume of local traffic and proximity to Clovis High School. However, police confirmed that no students were involved in the accident.
Pittman was arrested at the scene on charges of driving under the influence. She has been charged with gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. After being booked into the Fresno County Jail, Pittman has posted bail and been released.
