Aaliyah Bonman Obituary, Death – The Fresno Police Department identified the 19-year-old woman who was fatally shot following a confrontation at a hookah lounge in northeast Fresno over the weekend. Authorities reported that officers responded to a call around 3 a.m. on Saturday, arriving at the Rite-Aid parking lot located at Cedar Avenue and Nees Avenue, where they discovered a woman with a gunshot wound to her upper body. Emergency personnel provided immediate first aid, and the victim was transported to St. Agnes Hospital in Fresno, where she succumbed to her injuries shortly thereafter.

On Monday, police confirmed the victim’s identity as Aaliyah Bonman, aged 19. Homicide detectives initiated an investigation and discovered that prior to the shooting, Bonman had engaged in a physical altercation with a 21-year-old woman.

The suspect, identified as Penelope Mehr, was determined by police to have discharged a firearm at Bonman during their dispute, resulting in Bonman’s death. Undercover detectives apprehended Mehr on Sunday, August 25, near the intersection of Second Street and Jensen Avenue.

Mehr was subsequently arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail in connection with Bonman’s death.
